Lavender Sugar

Try our organic culinary lavender in cookies or other baked goods or use it to make a simple syrup for mixed drinks or lavender lemonade! Use about 1 1/2 T in your first batch of cookies to get a baseline of flavor.
For simple syrup, boil 1 cup of water with 1 cup of sugar for about a minute until the sugar is dissolved. Add 2 t lavender, cover, remove from heat, and steep for 20-30 minutes. Strain through cheesecloth or a fine colander. Add 1-2 cups of water until you reach the desired sweetness (you are diluting the sugar mixture this way). Keep your simple syrup refrigerated, and use it within five days, or freeze it in ice cube trays to add a little to your coffee or tea!
